North-West College, Glendale Career College and the Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing Recognize Hundreds of New Graduates at Spring Commencement Ceremony
Event Highlights the College’s Unwavering Commitment to Educating Students for Success

PASADENA, Calif.—Marking the culmination of many months of rigorous studies, more than 500 graduates from North-West College, Glendale Career College and the Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing crossed the stage at the College’s Spring Commencement Ceremony on Sunday. The event brought together family members, friends, Instructors, and Team Members alike—all there to celebrate this milestone moment for these graduates.

“I am proud and honored to be part of this commencement,” shared College President Mitchell Fuerst. “These students have worked so hard—overcoming tremendous obstacles during this challenging time to finish their programs. And we are amazed by how they have persevered to reach their goals.”

The spring 2022 graduating class was comprised of students from North-West College, Glendale Career College and the Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing, with graduates from many different career programs, including Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, Eyecare Specialist, Massage Therapist, Pharmacy Technician, Surgical Technologist, Vocational Nurse, Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and more. Each student took part in a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on learning opportunities—a hallmark of the College that enables individuals to put their newfound knowledge into practice so they can hit the ground running in the health care field.

Students and attendees had the opportunity to hear from Keynote Speaker George Esquivel, Founder/Creative Director of the luxury footwear and accessories brand, Esquivel. He shared his story, explaining that, as a child, he moved around a lot, often living in rundown motels as his family struggled to make ends meet. After his father abandoned the family, George made the hard decision to step up and support his mother and younger siblings. The dedication he demonstrated toward his family was the same commitment that helped him chase his dreams and ultimately become the success he is today.

“Today should be the first day of each of you chasing your dreams,” Esquivel said to the graduates. “Each of you can have an incredible influence over the people around you. Go out into the world. Apply for that job that seems out of your league. Go after your dreams and dream big. Have faith in God; work hard; and trust that everything will work out all right.”

After pledging to practice their chosen professions with integrity, President Fuerst officially conferred the students as graduates of the College. “It’s incredible to look out at the sea of students and recognize that each cap and gown represents a life changed by the quality career training we provide at our campuses,” Fuerst explained. “We have no doubt they will go on to have an amazing impact in their field and the communities they serve.”
