North-West College Completes Renovation of Long Beach Campus
New Facilities Underscore the College’s Commitment to Serving Students
WEST COVINA, Calif.—North-West College’s Long Beach campus recently underwent significant renovations with the goal of refreshing existing facilities and increasing student capacity. Opened in January 2014, the Long Beach campus previously had the facilities to serve 220 students. With construction complete, Long Beach team members now have the ability to work with as many as 300 students—a 36 percent increase in capacity.
“One of the key performance areas of North-West College is Quality Growth,” Long Beach Campus Director Amy Lee explained. “That’s exactly what we’ve accomplished with this renovation. Being able to serve our students in this new environment has been wonderfully rewarding.”
The renovation has also paved the way for two new program offerings at the Long Beach campus—the Vocational Nurse Program and the Pharmacy Technician Program. Already offered at other North-West College campuses, new and upgraded lab facilities will enable instructors to train students interested in these fields at the Long Beach campus as well.
“With the recent changes, we have doubled our lab capacity on our Long Beach campus,” Lee said. “This means we are even more equipped to prepare students for health care positions through realistic, hands-on learning experiences.”
In addition to new laboratories, the renovation also included a new front desk area for students and visitors, student and faculty unions, remodeled restroom facilities, new signage, and refreshed classrooms.
