North-West College Offers Online Learning Solutions to Ensure Students Can Continue Classes During Coronavirus Outbreak
Transition Highlights College’s Commitment to Helping Students Achieve Their Educational Goals Safely
WEST COVINA, Calif.—In the wake of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, North-West College (NWC) is moving its programs online to allow students to begin and complete their classes from their safety of their own homes. This alternate delivery enables the College to institute social distancing, with the goal of further slowing the spread of the disease.
“Our first priority is the health and wellness of our Students and Team Members,” explained President Mitchell Fuerst. “Nothing is more important than the safety of our community. Moving our classes online allows us to continue to provide high quality education while playing our part in stemming the tide against COVID-19.”
Effective March 16th, the transition will offer students an online learning environment using Moodle and Zoom video conferencing. Since many of North-West College’s programs include a blend of classroom didactic and hands-on clinicals, students will complete the didactic and theory portions of their classes first, with hands-on labs and clinical training to be scheduled later in their curriculum.
“I am confident we will make this a successful transition for new and current students alike,” shared Fuerst. “Our most important Core Value at North-West College is to Always Take Care of Our Students, and we know these online learning solutions will allow us to do exactly that during this period.”
“Yes, these are extraordinary times. But we’re an extraordinary community, not defined by a physical campus. And I have no doubt we will weather the days and weeks ahead with courage and compassion for one another. At our College, We Will Always Take Care of the Student, and I’m confident that one day we will look back on this moment with pride over how we all got though this together.”
