CAPPS Awards North-West College Student Kenni Brantley with Marsha Fuerst Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Supports Women Pursuing Studies in the Medical Assisting Field

POMONA, Calif.— The California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools (CAPPS) proudly recognizes Kenni Brantley from the North-West College (NWC) campus in Pomona as the recipient of the 2023 Marsha Fuerst Memorial Scholarship. Created to honor the legacy of North-West College Founder Marsha Fuerst, the award is open to female students enrolled in a Medical Assistant (MA) program at any CAPPS member school.

Kenni Brantley is a dedicated Medical Assistant student and single mother of two young children who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to her education and a genuine passion for helping others. This scholarship award serves as a testament to her hard work and determination.

Throughout her academic journey, Kenni has faced numerous challenges, but with remarkable perseverance, she has emerged as an inspiration to her fellow students and faculty members. Despite the demands of single-handedly raising her 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son, Kenni has excelled in her studies, proving that nothing can hinder the pursuit of one’s dreams.

In a heartfelt statement, Kenni expressed her utmost gratitude to her grandmother, whose unwavering support and assistance has been instrumental in allowing her to attend classes each day. Kenni also extended her appreciation to North-West College for their unflagging support and the invaluable guidance she has received from her instructor, Kheena Bannister. Kheena, recognizing Kenni’s dedication and potential, nominated her for this terrific scholarship.

Upon receiving news of her selection for the scholarship award, Kenni expressed her gratitude to CAPPS for recognizing her hard work and dedication. She vows to utilize this opportunity to empower herself further and make a positive impact in health care. As she looks ahead to embarking on her career as a Medical Assistant, Kenni intends to channel her passion for helping others into providing compassionate care and contributing to the overall well-being of her community.

North-West College Pomona Campus congratulates Kenni Brantley on this well-deserved honor and wishes her continued success in her journey to becoming a stalwart, highly skilled, and compassionate Medical Assistant.
