North-West College (NWC) Prepares to Open New Campus in Van Nuys, California
Current Pasadena Campus to Move to Van Nuys Location
VAN NUYS, Calif.—As part of its commitment to offering convenient locations throughout Southern California, North-West College (NWC) recently purchased a two-story building on Haynes Street in Van Nuys. The acquisition comes after NWC leadership learned of demolition plans for the building that currently houses the College’s Pasadena Campus, located at 530 East Union Street. For more than 30 years, North-West College Pasadena has trained students in short-term programs for gainful employment and will continue that mission from its new home in Van Nuys.
“The new Van Nuys Campus is centrally located—close to the heart of the valley,” explained Chief Strategy Officer Serjik Kesachekian. “We are excited to dive into that community and offer the quality programs North-West College is known for to the residents of Van Nuys and its surrounding cities.”
Slated for completion later this year, the Van Nuys Campus will offer a variety of health care programs. The facility is currently undergoing extensive renovations to provide students with appropriate classroom space for each program.
At North-West College, learning involves a blend of in-class instruction and hands-on training—a combination that allows students to cement their newfound knowledge and gain valuable skills. These renovations will allow the Van Nuys Campus to continue that training model. In addition, the new campus will house offices for Team Members, along with a student union area, giving students a place to gather, eat, and study between classes.
“Our goal is to create an exceptional new learning space for our students,” Kesachekian shared. “We know how crucial it is to have the right environment in which to grow and learn, and we are committed to providing that to our students from day one.”
NWC is also committed to helping students currently attending the College’s Pasadena Campus to complete their education. These individuals will have the option to finish their program at North-West College’s new Van Nuys Campus. They may also be able to attend a different NWC campus or complete their courses at its sister school, Glendale Career College (GCC).
